Did you know Impossible Burgers are also gluten free? When paired with our gluten free bao buns, this makes a vegetarian friendly meal that won't self destruct in 5 seconds.

This recipe also works great for non-vegetarians as well! Simply replace the Impossible beef with 1 lb ground beef.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

For the burger:

  • 1 lb Impossible beef
  • 1 packet gluten free onion soup mix (optional)
For the baos:
  • 8 Gluten Free Bao Company buns
  • 4 slices of cheese of your choice
  • quick pickles (see recipe) or jarred pickle chips of your choice.
  • Sriracha mayo (if making your own, we recommend a 1:4 ratio of sriracha to mayonnaise)

Directions:

Burger:

  • Mix impossible beef and onion soup mix (if desired) and form into 4 burger patties.
  • Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side. For the last minute, top with a slice of cheese so that it melts over the burger.
  • Cut each cheeseburger patty in half to make 8 half moons.

When ready to serve:

  • Steam Gluten Free Bao Company buns per instructions on package.
  • Assemble the baos by adding the cheeseburger half, then topping with pickles.
  • Drizzle with sriracha mayo (if desired) and enjoy!
