Heating Instructions

What is the best way to heat a Bao bun?

Steamer method (preferred):

Baos are traditionally cooked in a steamer basket and that is the recommended method for reheating. Place the baos on individual parchment squares. Using a bamboo steamer, electric steamer, or a metal steamer basket in a stock pot, steam for 4 minutes from thawed, or 8 minutes from frozen. Fill and serve immediately.

Microwave method:

We understand that not every household has a steamer basket. To heat our baos in the microwave: Wrap the baos in wet paper towels and place on a microwave safe plate. Microwave on LOW (30% power) according to the table below. If heating from frozen, rotate and flip halfway through. Fill and serve immediately. DO NOT microwave on high power, as this will scorch the buns.
