Egg McBao

You'll never eat fast food for breakfast again! This bao combines the nostalgia of your favorite breakfast sandwich with our delicious gluten free buns!

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 Gluten Free Bao Company buns
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and cut into 8 pieces
  • 4 mini hash browns (such as McCain BabyCakes), cooked per manufacturers instructions
  • Sriracha mayo (if making your own, we recommend a 1:4 ratio of sriracha to mayonnaise)

Directions:

  • Coat the surface of a skillet with cooking spray or oil and heat over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  • Crack the raw eggs into skillet and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper. For best results, use a circular mold such as a biscuit cutter or english muffin ring.
  • Cook eggs until hard set, flipping halfway through.
  • Cut each egg in half to make 4 half moons.
  • Steam Gluten Free Bao Company buns per instructions on package.
  • Cut each cheddar cheese slice in half diagonally to make 4 triangles.
  • Assemble your breakfast sandwich, first with the egg half, then the cheese triangle, then 2 pieces of bacon, and finally the hash brown.
  • Drizzle with sriracha mayo (if desired) and enjoy!
