Are your bao buns really gluten free?
Our bao buns are made using only gluten free ingredients and meet the FDA requirements for labeling as Gluten Free. That being said, they are prepared in a facility that also processes wheat, soy, and nuts, and so may contain trace amounts of allergens. As such, we cannot recommend our bao buns for those with Celiac disease.
Are your bao buns dairy free or vegan?
Our gluten free bao buns do contain milk products, so they are not dairy free or vegan.

What is the best way to heat a Bao bun?
Bao buns are traditionally cooked in a steamer basket and that is the recommended method for reheating. Steam in a bamboo steamer or use a metal steam basket in a stock pot for 2 minutes from thawed, or 5 minutes from frozen.
However, we understand that not every household has a steamer basket. To heat our bao buns in the microwave, wrap the thawed buns in a wet paper towel and microwave on LOW power (or 30% power) for 30 seconds, rotate and flip, then microwave on LOW power (or 30% power) for another 30 seconds. Serve immediately.
We do not recommend heating our bao buns in the oven, toaster oven, or air fryer.
What is the best way to eat a bao?
Any way! Though traditionally filled with Asian flavors such as stewed meats and pickled vegetables, bao buns are perfect for any type of filling and any type of cuisine! They are excellent with fried chicken, burgers, bacon and eggs, tuna salad, sautéed mushrooms, etc. See our Recipes page for suggestions!
Can I send bao buns as a gift?
Do you know someone who is gluten free AND loves Asian cuisine? You can be their hero! On the cart page, there is a place to add a note to your order. Write a gift message and we will be sure the recipient receives it with the order.
What is the shelf life of your bao buns?
Our gluten free bao buns are shelf stable. Please use or freeze by the date on the package. To extend their lives, place in the freezer upon receipt. Our gluten free bao buns can be frozen and thawed without affecting their flavor or texture.
How are your bao buns packaged?
Our bao buns are bagged in multiples of 6 or 12 and shipped in rigid cardboard boxes to prevent squishing in transit. If by some chance your order is damaged in transit, let us know and we will replace your order.
Do you accept returns?
Due to the perishable nature of the product, we are not able to accept returns. However, if you do believe something is wrong with the bao buns you received, please contact us through the form at the bottom of this page.
